CoreSite NY2 CR104 Building B

CoreSite | NY2 CR104 Building B | Secaucus, NJ

Building on the success of DPR's recent work at CoreSite, DPR successfully negotiated another project at their Secaucus, NJ facility. NY2 CR104 Building B data suite is directly adjacent to DPR's recently completed CR103 project. This project will include core and shell upgrades to the existing building, a new standby generator, fit-out of a 4.5MW data suite, and a new switchgear and UPS room.

About The

Project

DPR was awarded this opportunity based on its existing relationship with this national customer and the success of our New Jersey operations team's performance on the execution of the CR103 project which achieved substantial completion, including Level 5 IST commissioning, a day earlier than the contractual substantial completion date.

The NY2 CR104 Building B project includes upgrading the core & shell of the existing NY2 warehouse space and build out of a new 27,000-sq.-ft. data suite, supporting ups/ring bus room, and loading dock and flex spaces. The project includes reinforcing existing/adding new steel members, reinforcing portions of the existing foundation, new raised flooring and structural ceiling systems, new generator and makeup water tank, new MEP infrastructure, data hall/ring bus room equipment, and associated security, IT and fiber installations.

Leveraging

Virtual Design & Construction

DPR was given the green light to pilot Autodesk Build on this project which will integrate and streamline design coordination, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, meeting records, project directories, and many other tools. This involved setting up the project with DPR tools and getting team alignment with all project stakeholders. The team is also utilizing a full BIM coordination process, specifically for the MEPFP systems. By using coordination during preconstruction, the team will identify and mitigate issues that could have an impact on the construction schedule such as verifying shaft dimensions needed for one of the buildings.

The coordinated model will be available to the field team at any time to ensure trades are installing as per the model to avoid any conflicts in field.
