Riverside Doctor's Hospital Williamsburg MRI - OR Expansion | Williamsburg, Virginia

Riverside Doctor’s Hospital Williamsburg is a 40-bed acute care hospital. DPR renovated 1,100 sq. ft. of shell space for the hospital’s third and largest operating room. Concurrently, the team constructed a two-story, 4,500-sq.-ft. expansion.

Project

Details

The renovation consisted of new MEP infrastructure which included MedGas, structural support for new Skytron Booms and new SLD Modular HVAC and lighting system, and finishes for a sterile environment to include Epoxy Flooring and Hygienic Wall Covering.

The expansion project's first floor increased the capability of the hospital’s imaging department, including its first MRI. The second floor provided the surgical staff with both equipment and clean sterile storage to support their growing operations with their new and third OR.

Delivering Value

In Preconstruction

Through the use of value engineering strategies during preconstruction, the team returned savings to the owner from Subcontractor Buyout negotiations as well as self-performed work wherever possible, which ensured the best rate for the owner.

Constructive

Collaboration

DPR worked with the team at Riverside and treated them as partners, and approached any issue that arose with professionalism, humility and provided feasible recommendations. The team was always honest with one another which built trust with the users, and allowed the team to receive buy-in for more efficient means and methods approved by the client.
