The 186,000-sq.-ft., seven-story tower will be added to the existing AdventHealth Parker campus, significantly increasing the facility’s capacity. This expansion affects several key areas, including the central utility plant, loading dock, emergency department and support services, requiring careful planning to minimize disruptions to hospital operations. The project broke ground in early 2025, and upon completion of the bed wing tower, phased renovations of existing spaces will optimize the hospital’s overall layout and functionality. Massive coordination is required to ensure existing functionality and utilities are not disturbed, or moved and re-energized, to avoid lapses in power.

This greenfield project encompasses 380,000 sq. ft. that will support 48 megawatts of hybrid liquid cooled IT power. Safety is a shared value of both Vantage and DPR, and the site team adopted an integrated approach to safety through shared visibility, craft engagement and site layout. Through just-in-time engineering and strategic design elements, the team created opportunities to adapt the building to the latest technology while maintaining the schedule. DPR’s self-perform work team successfully placed all the site concrete including the tilt-wall panels. Also included in DPR’s scope are all interior partitions, exterior screen-walls, building enclosure water proofing systems and exterior panels from Digital Building Components (DBC).

The 28,000-sq.-ft. transformation delivered a new NICU featuring 16 private single and 2 private twin patient rooms, family-centered amenities, and advanced clinical spaces designed to support the highest level of care. Because work took place directly above the active pediatric emergency department, under slab utility work was sequenced into meticulously planned phases to avoid any disruptions. Using VDC, the team coordinated early design and constructability efforts with GPLA, delivering delegated design for specialty framing and ceiling systems. DPR’s self-perform work teams also played a central role—installing double sound-isolation ceilings, sloped triangular ceilings at nurse stations, prefabricated headwalls, framing, drywall, specialty furnishings, custom wall coverings and firestopping.

At Sierra College, HKS and DPR, alongside DPR’s strategic partners Digital Building Components, EIG, and SurePods, joined forces to deliver a 121,000-sq.-ft., three-floor student housing project. Through a design-build approach and cutting-edge prefabrication—including light-gauge metal panels and volumetric bathroom pods—the team eliminated rework and delivered a smooth coordinated build process. This transformative project will enhance the housing experience for current and future students by substantially decreasing the cost of rent to below the area’s market rate. Located on the edge of campus, the building will feature accessible apartment-style residences.
