The Solano Community College District project replaces facilities that are 45 years old and is intended to be a showcase building for the campus. The project includes the design and construction of a new ground-up, design-build science building. The new construction includes a 45,000-sq.-ft. facility that will house science laboratories for biology, chemistry, anatomy, geology and geography, as well as two general laboratories, a lecture room and general support spaces. The building features faculty offices, restrooms and interactive social meeting spaces located in the lobby area. The scope of work also includes exterior interactive spaces and miscellaneous site improvements.
The new building will provide state-of-the-art labs and teaching spaces for the science program.
In addition, a Veteran’s Center will be a part of this new construction, providing support services for veterans attending the college.
