The Renaissance at West River project is a 181,841-sq.-ft. senior living facility for Banc of America Community Development Corporation and Tampa Housing Authority, and is the first construction in the West River redevelopment plan. The plan promotes a genuinely diverse and economically integrated community, by focusing on linkages along the Hillsborough River to emergent activities south of I-275 in North Hyde Park to the waters of Tampa Bay.
Project
Details
The six-story senior housing project includes 160 residential units and partially covered parking, a business center, a salon, a craft room, a community room and a fitness center.
Digital Building Components is the delegated designer for the prefabricated floors, roof and skin of the building. Levels two through six and the roof are prefabricated. The project features five levels of prefabricated, load-bearing, cold form steel structure, on a two-story concrete post-tensioned podium.
DPR’s self-perform team installed the prefabricated structure, as well as execute the concrete, drywall and framing.
Saving Time
& Money
DPR's VDC teams in collaboration with vConstruct, completed edge of slab details that were fully coordinated with the architectural, structural and DBC drawings. The team uncovered slab edges that were in and out of tolerance. Finding this before the panels were on site saved cost and time.
VDC and vConstruct also completed a set of embed shop drawings and coordinated them with the Post-Tension concrete shop drawings. DBC’s load bearing cold formed metal framing is anchored to these embeds. This will be DPR’s & DBC’s largest load bearing structure today.
