Irvine Materials Research Institute Renovation at California Institute of Telecommunications & Information Technology | Irvine, CA
DPR was contracted for renovations to the shell and lab spaces designated for the Irvine Materials Research Institute (IMRI) located on multiple floors of the California Institute of Telecommunications & Information Technology building. Renovation work included demolition, MEP installations, new laboratory casework and equipment, electromagnetic shielding, acoustical and vibration isolation systems and interior finishes.

Details
The IMRI was also configured for a combination of dry and wet labs. The space serves as an interdisciplinary center for the study and development of technology and research for the IMRI, utilizing highly specialized laboratory equipment and microscopes furnished by the University of California, Irvine. Laboratory spaces were designated for electrochemistry, thin film and SPM labs.
