DPR intern Elam shares what he’s learning during his internship—starting with Project Engineer tasks, then transitioning into the Field Engineer role and gaining exposure to different parts of the project.

What roles have you explored as a DPR intern?

Elam: Greetings. I am Elam Richardson. I'm a senior civil engineering scholar, hailing from the Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. I'm a Project Engineer (PE) intern in the Raleigh-Durham business unit. I spent the first three weeks of my internship learning PE tasks—RFIs, submittals, kind of getting my hands on the realm of being a PE. I'm spending the rest of my time as a Field Engineer, and I am trying to learn how to incorporate that role on our site.
