What was your DPR internship like?

Zuri: Hey everyone. My name is Zuri Njenga. Come with me to see what it's like interning with DPR Construction at the tallest building in Texas.

We do some morning stretches. Of course, since we're so high up, we get some really beautiful views, especially during sunrises. At first it was nerve wracking, but it's so worth it just to be able to see your project from any point around Austin.

You can see I have keys here on this cardboard. Just by me spending the time to do this little task and label these keys, it's helping out so many different people in the field. They will know which key will go with which lock.

Here I'm doing some surveying, making sure that the slope of the sidewalk is within ADA grades. I also did a lot of work on the balconies as we were preparing for punch lists.

Another thing that I love are lunches with the team. You can see some of the interns going through orientation in preparation for a site visit with all the other interns. We were touring Waterline and I love getting to show my project around with my peers. During my time in Austin, I was also able to go on a river boat tour and see the infamous bat colony.

Also during my internship, DPR turned 35. Happy birthday!
