$65,000 Check Presented to Brookhaven Boys & Girls Club by DPR Foundation

by Peter Nosler

Last week on Tuesday, Jan. 22, DPR Foundation folks presented the Brookhaven Boys and Girls Club with a grant of $65,000. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Foundation is supporting the Club. This donation will help support the Power Hour Homework program and the Healthy Habits program at the Brookhaven Club. DPR Atlanta also received an additional $10,000 in discretionary funds to help increase volunteerism and develop more programs like the “DPR Green Day” that was implemented in the summer of 2012.

In addition to our grant announcement, we are proud to have been chosen as the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA)'s “Club Corporate Partner of the Year." According to BGCMA representatives, the DPR Foundation was chosen because: "DPR gives more financial support & volunteer hours to one specific club (Brookhaven) than any other corporate partner across our 10-county region; it is one of the healthiest partnerships BGCMA enjoys, and it has grown steadily every year as DPR continues to expand their investment; and, DPR staff who volunteer have been consistent over a long period of time, which has fostered a family-like atmosphere between the company & the Club."

Thank you to BGCMA for this honor and to all who made this award possible. Here's to a great year of helping our communities!

The DPR Foundation is a company-wide, focused outreach to help children who fall short of their potential due to socio-economic challenges. For 2012-2013, the DPR Foundation distributed a grand total of $845,000 to support all of the organizations selected. Since 2008, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.4 million to 21 different organizations.
