Recognized as a strong operations leader, Camilo Garcia brings discipline and a commitment to projects and people, along with deep technical experience in healthcare, life sciences and advanced technology, to his role as Northeast Co-Regional Leader and member of DPR's Leadership Team.
Focused primarily on the overall success of the region, which includes offices in Richmond, DC/Baltimore, Philadelphia/New Jersey and Boston, he supports leaders as they hire, inspire, develop and grow the best teams in the industry. By helping to ensure cross-team collaboration, he enables DPR to deliver projects with the highest levels of communication and trust. The Washington Business Journal honored Camilo with a Diversity in Business Award for his influence and leadership in the local community and his contributions to DPR’s growth.
Camilo joined DPR in 2003 as a project engineer after completing his master's in construction management at Purdue University. In 2011, he moved to Bogota, Colombia, where he provided consulting services throughout Latin America to several clients on their lean, IPD and BIM construction practices. In 2014, Camilo relocated to Washington, D.C., where he worked tirelessly as the Co-Business Unit Leader to build the DC/Baltimore Business Unit. He helped drive operational excellence, developing strong customer relationships and taking care of people, before embarking on his current role and responsibilities.
Camilo is passionate about getting to know people on a personal level, because understanding what is important to someone and why they care about it allows DPR to build great things even better. His commitment to caring about the individual informs his approach to leadership as he encourages teams to elevate their game to be the best and continuously raise the bar. He loves being part of the team that takes DPR ever forward. He has also been involved in key organizations, including Federal City Council and the National Building Museum where he served as Chairman of the Board.
When he’s not working, Camilo can often be found playing tennis or any other racquet sport. He also enjoys golfing. Last but not least, he enjoys traveling with his wife and their three adult kids to new and different locations every year.

- What you love about construction: Working with clients upfront when the project is just an idea, a concept, and be able to work together with a Team to provide at the end of day a project that will exceed their expectations!
- First job: In high school I was a DJ, and then as a freshman in college I worked in a structural engineering firm doing quantity take offs.
- Most useful app: ChatGPT, absolutely. Use it more than 10 times a day!
- Best vacation spot: The one that I would like to go back to, Kenya...
- Favorite subject in school: Philo-Physics. A combined course that covered Physics and Philosophy, and the topics were covered chronologically (through the different ages).
