Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Center

Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Center | Largo, Maryland

The medical center was the third “super hub” that DPR completed for Kaiser Permanente in the mid-Atlantic region and consisted of two phases. The existing facility was one of Kaiser Permanente’s busiest facilities in the region, so ensuring ongoing, uninterrupted service was mandatory throughout construction.

Phase 1

Details

The first phase included the construction of a 106,000-sq.-ft., three-level addition, connected to the existing 110,000-sq.-ft. occupied medical center complex. The addition provided new service lines to the medical center, including:

  • an emergency/urgent care center,
  • a radiology department complete with MRI, CT scan and interventional radiology rooms, and
  • six operating suites with pre- and post-operative care.
Phase 2

Details

The second phase included a 38,000-sq.-ft. renovation within the existing medical center to house the orthopedic, cardiac, and ear, nose and throat specialties.
