The WellStar Paulding Hospital project was multi-phased and took place inside an active operating room. The objective was to convert the existing shelled rooms to three fully-functional surgery suites, a cystoscopy room and a renovated soiled holding area.
Phase 2 of the 3 phase renovation included a GI procedure room.
The nearly 4,000-sq.-ft. renovation was completed over an active emergency department, and each phase included a separate logistics plan for access and infection control.
All phases of the project were coordinated in and around the active sterile corridor. The scope of work included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (med gas and water) system completion. Additional scope included specified lights, structure to support lights and booms, drywall ceiling, scrub sinks, and casework in room.
DPR self-performed demolition, drywall, doors, frames and hardware, wall protection and Division 10, and all infection control.
