With the overall goal to significantly improve the function, usefulness, and appearance of the University Medical Center, DPR was selected as the general contractor for this critical project.
The project included the complete renovation of the 37,500-sq.-ft. radiology department, construction of four electrophysiology labs, a 2,300-sq.-ft. intraoperative MRI suite connected to two operating rooms, the shell out of two additional operating rooms, and the 10,800-sq.-ft. renovation and relocation of surgery pathology.
The project was constructed in multiple phases in order to maximize efficiency and maintain patient care services. The renovation has improved the University’s ability to provide the highest level of care.
DPR utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM) to help with the site logistics and better coordinate with the other construction projects adjacent to the Hospital. BIM was also used to aid in communicating the existing conditions within the space to the A/E Team.
