DPR has performed numerous renovations for UHS at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, located next to the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro station. Inside the active hospital, the team has performed a variety of renovations, the majority of which were completed under an IPD delivery method.

Renovations

Renovations ranged from a new spine and pain center, ICU flooring and bed replacements, MRI installations, 3rd and 6th floor renovations, Starbucks cafeteria renovation, elevator expansion and modernization, helipad installation, rehab clinic, transplant clinic, imaging upgrades, psych unit renovations, and EVD unit planning.

Creating

New Spaces

The 6th floor renovation was the largest stand-alone project in the program, and required converting existing administrative space to a 42-bed medical surgery unit. The scope of the space includes a reception desk and waiting area, nurses stations, offices and administration work areas, new finishes, bathrooms, and utilities that to tie into the existing hospital.
