The Margaritaville Resort Orlando Hotel's new 187-room, 298,744-sq.-ft hotel will immediately put guests into a vacation state of mind with some of the brand's signature décor elements – including a giant flip-flop sculpture and an upside-down margarita glass chandelier in the lobby.

Details

The Margaritaville Hotel, across 10 new buildings, includes rooms with a view (every room has a lagoon-view balcony), three restaurant and bar venues, a Margaritaville store, 30,000-sq.-ft. of Ballroom and Meeting space, a Kids’ Zone, and a Fitness Center and Spa. The Jimmy Buffett suite alone takes up the entire fifth floor of one of the resort's buildings and offers a pool table, its own fitness room, and the largest balcony on the property.

Guests won't waste away from the Florida heat thanks to the hotel's state-of-the-art cooling system. This efficient system shares cooling and heating between all the different units, and include a unique variable refrigerant flow system instead of chilled-water for the HVAC. DPR self-performed the Exterior Siding and Fiberglass Shapes, in addition to the toilet accessories, specialties, and doors and hardware to improve quality, cost, and schedule.

Virtual Design And

Construction

BIM was used to perform full modeling and clash detection prior to systems’ fabrication. We also used a Handheld Radar Detection to locate in-slab reinforcement and utilities to ensure accurate as-builts were taken and subsequent work could be installed safely.

DPR also used BIM to help communicate and visualize changes with the Owner prior to implementation. An on-site drone was flown multiple times every week for an up-to-date record of the job and client communication.
