Prior to this project, DPR completed several small project for ATCO at Camp North End including the Keswick Cut, a deconstruction, shoring, and steel construction project to make way for the extension of Keswick Street, and selective demolition and roofing at Building 2. DPR is also building out the space for the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit at Camp North End utilizing our self-perform team to meet the fast schedule demands.
To provide communication to the remote stakeholders, DPR is utilizing Matterport to keep the project team up to date on the project's progress by sharing the 3D model of as-built conditions. DPR is also self-performing drywall, doors, frames & hardware, waterproofing, specialties, and electrical through DPR's EIG team.
In keeping with DPR's core values, the entire project team is focused on workforce development and inclusion of diverse suppliers and labor on the project. Working with DPR's ongoing apprenticeship program and local organization, Potions & Pixels, the team is committed to advance the careers of our craft workforce. We are also partnering with The ROC Charlotte whose mission is to educate and mentor high school students for technical education and career opportunities in the construction industry to bring a high school intern onto the project as part of the field work force. The project expects to achieve 26% diversity spend on all project subcontractors based in Charlotte and approximately 38% spend with NorthEnd based subcontractors.
