DPR Construction Kicks Off New Year with 32,000-sq.-ft. Clubhouse Renovation For Quail Lodge & Resort Golf Club

DPR Construction, Inc., a forward-thinking national commercial contractor/construction manager, kicked off construction today on a $5 million clubhouse renovation for one of the world’s leading resorts, Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club, in Carmel, Calif. Nestled on a 3.26-acre site off of Valley Greens Drive, the six-month project features interior and exterior improvements to the resort’s two-story, 32,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse and its surrounding area, including new meeting rooms and kitchens, an expanded Pro Shop, upgraded exterior guardrails, and new site concrete and landscaping.

“Quail Lodge is one of the world’s premier resort and golf destinations, and we are taking every proactive measure to ensure that construction does not disrupt the operations and services provided to the resort’s valued guests,” said Kurtis Forsgren, project manager for DPR Construction’s Special Services Group, which was created in 1999 to handle customers’ small-to mid-size needs for projects ranging from $1,000 to $5 million. “DPR’s extensive experience in building within or adjacent to occupied functioning facilities, such as hospitals, corporate offices, biotech laboratories and classrooms, provides us with the ability to work as efficiently, quietly and safely as possible even under the most aggressive schedules.”

Serving as the general contractor, DPR plans to further expand its presence in the Monterey Peninsula and is encouraging local subcontractors to bid and complete services for the clubhouse expansion project, which is slated for a June 2003 opening. Additional members of the project team include San Francisco-based Axis Architecture + Design as the architect, Andrea Bartholick Pace as the interior designer with assistance from The Getty’s Group in Chicago, Nishkian Menninger as the structural engineer, Jack Chandler & Associates as the landscape architect, and Monterey Bay Engineers as the civil engineer.
