DPR’s “smile across the nation” has grown bigger and wider with the addition of Hardin Construction

One of our strategic long-term goals is to expand and maintain a solid national footprint. Starting with offices throughout Northern California and sweeping across the southern part of the U.S. to Washington, DC, the strength of our “smile” across the nation was a little lopsided until recently.

In mid-April, we acquired Hardin Construction, an Atlanta-based company founded in 1946, and welcomed new employees to our organization—enhancing our presence throughout the Southeastern half of the country. Combining operations in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Texas, we’ve added not only some of the best builders these regions have to offer but also a legacy of notable projects, including:

• The 3.9 million-sq.-ft. World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta.
• The 2,754-seat Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta.
• The 757,000-sq.-ft., 33-story PNC Plaza high-rise in Raleigh.
• A 579,000-sq.-ft., five-story renovation to the Tampa International Airport in Tampa.
• A 3 million-sq.-ft. expansion to the Convention Center in Orlando.

We also recently broke ground on the 29-story Colorado Tower—a glass-and-steel office building for Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Inc.—in downtown Austin.

In addition to the great people and portfolio of projects, we’re excited about all of the future possibilities. We see increasing opportunity in the Southeast, particularly in the healthcare, higher education and hospitality markets. With the influx of talent and expertise, DPR’s ability to service owner needs throughout the nation is just that much stronger.
