Broward Health Breaks Ground on Deerfield Beach MOB

1 minute read

Broward Health has broken ground on a new medical office building (MOB) in Deerfield Beach, marking an important milestone in expanding access to high-quality care for a growing community.

Constructed by DPR Construction, the six-story facility will feature 75 exam rooms, with the capacity to expand to 123 rooms in the future. The new building will support a wide range of specialty services, including cardiovascular care, neuroscience and orthopedics. This expansion builds on DPR’s long-standing partnership with Broward Health and marks an important milestone, enabling the health system to broaden its physician network and enhance access to care for the growing Deerfield Beach community in a single convenient location.

The state-of-the-art outpatient facility is designed with both patients and care teams in mind. Thoughtfully planned spaces will include a phlebotomy suite, orthopedic clinic and essential clinical support areas that help support patient-centered care.

This project reflects DPR Construction’s expertise and ability to help owners plan and build healthcare facilities that can adapt to changing community needs and service line growth. To support future expansion, the top two floors of the building will be shelled, providing flexibility as healthcare demands evolve.

DPR is also leveraging its technical expertise and hands-on building approach, including self-perform work and prefabrication to help improve efficiency, quality and coordination throughout the project.

Located in a coastal region prone to severe weather, the facility is engineered for resilience. The building is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds of up to 170 mph and all windows and glass openings feature protective systems to guard against windborne debris, in full compliance with Florida Building Code requirements.

Key project partners include The Beck Group, DMZ Architects, Newmark, Concord Healthcare Development, Centurion and Remedy Medical Properties.

The new facility is set to open in 2027.
