Passionate about growing and mentoring the people on his teams, Bryan Kent builds trust and authentic relationships as he empowers people to find success in their roles. With over 25 years of commercial and higher education experience, this industry veteran combines his technical, business and management skills to provide customers with strong leadership in his role as the Central Texas Business Unit Leader.

As the son of a master electrician, Bryan has been immersed in the construction industry his entire life; he grew up visiting job sites and never stopped. He brought expertise ranging from field engineer, estimator, developer and manager to builder, when he joined DPR in 2014. It’s important to Bryan that people understand how supportive DPR is and that we do a great job giving people lots of opportunities. He encourages everyone to explore all those opportunities, saying, “Doing something out of your comfort zone might end up being something you really enjoy. Don’t say ‘no’, say ‘how?’.”

Bryan likes to get things done and as a leader, he empowers others to get things done too, trusting they’ll deliver on their promises. He ensures we have the right people on project teams and that they are supported so they can give customers better scheduling, planning and the solutions they need for success. Building real relationships with his team requires giving direct feedback. Delivering bad news in the right way–with heart–lets people know you have their best interest in mind and you’re trying to help them grow. Bryan believes the most important part of his role is supporting the people on his team and making sure they have what they need to do their jobs to support our customers.

Bryan enjoys spending his free time with his family, which includes three kids. He loves traveling, being outside, playing golf and tennis, and running.
