Amir Nekoumand finds inspiration all around him. As the New Jersey Business Unit Leader, he focuses on creating the vision and path forward for the business unit, which includes Philadelphia and the greater Delaware Valley, and developing the people and teams that build great projects for our customers. He loves seeing DPR’s growth in the region and helping empower the people around him as they grow in their careers.

Amir grew up around construction and spent his summers working for his father’s electrical contracting company. At a very young age, he saw how transformative the construction industry can be and gravitated towards it, eventually falling in love with bringing a customer’s vision to life. Since joining DPR in 2013, he has worked on numerous projects in our healthcare and advanced technology core markets and finds daily inspiration through his work.

An eternal optimist who believes we can do things that others may think are impossible, Amir believes if he’s breathing and healthy, everything else can be managed. He enjoys working with his hands and relishes time spent in the field. He loves being around the people in our people-driven industry and has a great appreciation for our amazing craft people. “Our tradespeople deserve more credit than they get for being forward-thinking and innovative.”

Amir’s parents immigrated from Iran right before the revolution so they could raise their family in a free society. Arriving with nothing but hope and a dream, they worked hard. Growing up poor, watching his dad work and go to school full time to build a foundation for his family’s future, helped shape the person Amir is today. He loves to be with his family, even doing simple things such as eating meals together. He loves to play golf, eats healthy and runs in addition to working out. He’s outdoorsy, enjoys the ocean and the beach and loves to surf.
