As part of an ongoing campus beautification initiative, UMD hired DPR to renovate the north entrance to make it more aesthetically pleasing for pedestrians coming from the nearby sports fields and residence halls.

The north entrance renovation features both interior and exterior work, including a new lobby, and façade and vestibule replacement. To replace the existing walkway and bike racks, there is a new courtyard and sitting area for students that features new landscaping and Terrapin-themed decorative rock structures.

Thanks to the efforts of the DPR team, the project met its goal to be opened in time for UMD's first Big Ten football game of the season.
