East Trade Street Data Center

Charter East Trade Street Data Center | Charlotte, North Carolina

The East Trade Street Data Center is a fit-out of a new 10,000-sq.-ft. data center for Charter's EDGE Group. The new data center, in the heart of uptown Charlotte, was built out on the fourth floor of an occupied, fully operational facility. The space includes a 2,000-sq.-ft. battery room and 8,000-sq.-ft. server room with seven rows of DC powered cabinets. The project included tie-ins to the existing utilities and new generator gear to serve the DC distribution plant.

Project Scope

During the project, DPR's original client, Time Warner Cable was acquired by Charter Communications. To mitigate any disruptions to the project, DPR worked alongside the owner's representative, providing weekly status updates and team-wide open communications to maintain the project schedule during the transition.

To ensure customer satisfaction, DPR hired professional data center cleaners to ensure the space was thoroughly cleaned. DPR also helped achieve substantial savings by using self-perform labor on smaller scopes of work including concrete, firestopping, as well as doors and hardware. DPR's self-perform work group also installed the hot aisle containment system.
