Company recognized for commitment to building the next generation of construction leaders through volunteerism and grants

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 5, 2026 DPR Construction, one of the nation’s top technical builders, was honored as a 2026 Champion for Girls by Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey at the organization’s 24th Annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Gala.

The Champion for Girls Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate meaningful, long-term investment in Girls Inc.’s mission to empower girls to be strong, smart and bold. DPR was selected for its multi-year partnership focused on hands-on learning, mentorship and workforce development initiatives that introduce girls to careers where women have historically been underrepresented.

For the past four years, DPR has engaged with more than 80 girls in the Delaware Valley on projects including Project Accelerate, Immersive Design & Build Camps, career exploration days and paid high school internships. DPR has provided Girls Inc. participants with direct exposure to active construction environments and the wide range of roles that shape the built environment. These experiences are supported by DPR employees who volunteer their time to mentor students, share career pathways and demonstrate how collaboration, safety and innovation come together on complex construction projects.

“DPR has created extraordinary opportunities that are both inspiring and tangible for our girls,” said Natasha Johnson, M.S.Ed., CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey. “Their commitment goes beyond one-time engagement—it’s about building confidence, skills and access that can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.”

Additionally, the DPR Foundation has supported Girls Inc. by enhancing and modernizing program facilities and providing personal protective equipment, helping ensure participants can safely engage in hands-on learning.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work," said Amir Nekoumand, business unit leader at DPR Construction. “The DPR Foundation’s contributions to Girls Inc. also aligns with their mission to support community needs. Through financial contributions and by bringing students into real project settings and sharing our expertise, we’re helping young women make futures in construction and engineering possible—and strengthening the industry by broadening who sees themselves in it.”
