Mission 2030

Founded with the purpose to “build great things,” we set out on a mission to build a truly great construction company by the year 2000. As a group, which was about 16 to 20 people at the time, we created a tangible image with 12 goals that would define what was meant by “truly great.” Over the years, we have continuously taken time to measure our performance, always looking for opportunities to improve.

Now, it is the year 2000, and we have not only achieved our goals but exceed them. DPR is truly a great construction company. As we open an exciting new chapter of DPR, we will continue to build great things and build upon the tangible image we have solidified over the last 10 years. We are also embarking on a new mission: “To be one of the Most Admired Companies by the Year 2030.” And, what defines “Most Admired”? Based on feedback from the entire company, now a group of approximately 2,000 people, we have developed a vivid description for Mission 2030:

Over the next 30 years, our people practices will be recognized as being progressive and influential as Hewlett Packard’s were over the last 50 years.

• When it comes to quality and innovation, we will do for the construction industry what Toyota did for the auto industry.
• We will have created a brand image that is as positive and consistent as Disney’s.
• Like Microsoft and Sun Microsystems, our people and company will be known for being aggressive and “bullet smart.”
• We will be as integral and indispensable to the communities we operate in as are The Boys and Girls Clubs and The Red Cross.
• We will consistently produce truly great results and financial returns comparable to the Most Admired Companies.

We want to continue to build a company that-like the facilities we construct-will endure for generations; a company that will be admired not only for its projects, but also for the people practices we have in place and for the quality and innovation we provide to customers every day. While still embracing our purpose and core values of integrity, enjoyment, uniqueness and ever forward, DPR is beginning its evolution from a truly great construction company to one of the most admired that is built to last for many, many years to come.
