Building Foundations Spr/Sum 2010

In its second year, the DPR Foundation pledged a total of $305,000 to 10 organizations committed to helping children challenged by their socio-economic circumstances. In addition to continuing to support the four charities awarded grants in 2008 (The Roberts Family Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Brookhaven, Maryland Multicultural Youth Center and Turning Wheels for Kids), the Foundation is adding six new organizations: Peninsula Bridge, Kidspace Children’s Museum, CapCityKids, Polinsky Children’s Center, Teach for America and Seven Tepees Youth Center.

“Our underlying philosophy is to choose organizations that serve children K-12 and with missions that align closely to DPR’s culture and values,” said Gavin Keith, who serves on the DPR Foundation Board of Directors. “Once we select an organization, our hope is to continue our support year after year to build a long-term, lasting relationship.”

Along with financial assistance in the form of grants ranging from $20,000 to $40,000, the DPR Foundation seeks out organizations that can benefit from volunteer hours of DPR employees. Following is more information on three of the organizations receiving assistance from the DPR Foundation this year:
