FEATURED PAST EVENT: October 10, 2013
SAN FRANCISCO, CA

On October 10, The Registry held an event called “The New Healthcare Environment.” Panel members included DPR’s Hamilton Espinosa as well as representatives from Kaiser Permanente, Alameda Health System, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System and SmithGroupJJR.
Takeaways from the panel’s discussion included:
• The architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry needs to provide flexible building infrastructure so owners can use buildings for as long as possible—meaning 60 years rather than
25 years.
• Lean project delivery provides value to owners.
• Healthcare providers want to use technology to tailor the experience to patients’ preferences, resulting in the need for IT infrastructure and potentially more healthcare data centers.
