Net-Zero: East to West Coast

On February 2, Chris Gorthy presented “Why Net-Zero Means Business for Occupants” at the Getting to Zero National Forum in Washington, D.C. He highlighted DPR’s experience as both a builder and owner of buildings that are net-zero energy, meaning they produce as much or more energy than they consume. DPR’s net-zero energy experience includes its regional offices in San Diego, Phoenix and San Francisco. Gorthy also discussed results, metrics and lessons learned. On the other side of the country, on February 11, Ted van der Linden spoke on a net-zero panel at the Bisnow Construction and Development Summit in San Francisco, CA. Van der Linden stressed the advantages of converting undervalued buildings at the end of their life cycle.
In West Hollywood, CA, in March, Whitney Dorn also presented on net-zero—this time at the Bisnow Future of Real Estate: Design, Innovation & Tech Summit.
