Ryan Poole

Ryan is a purpose-driven leader who believes construction can be a force for good when it prioritizes people, the planet and long-term value. In his role leading Global Sustainability, he works across DPR’s family of companies to integrate sustainability into how we build, operate and grow. His focus is on driving change that advances environmental and wellness goals, enhances customer partnerships and supports business growth.

Ryan’s journey into construction was driven by a commitment to enhancing health and well-being through the built environment. In college, he shifted from medicine to Construction Science and Management after recognizing the connection between buildings, human health and the planet. He became the first Director of Sustainability in student government and later earned a master’s in civil engineering, focusing on how the built environment can support a healthier future.

Ryan brings a builder’s mindset to his operational experience, starting as a field engineer for a self-performing industrial contractor, growing to lead technical projects across market sectors and strategic sales efforts. Since joining DPR, Ryan established and now leads the Global Sustainability Group and developed the Path to Regeneration to drive carbon reduction by 2030. During his tenure, DPR has seen significant growth in green revenue, expanded its sustainability-focused services, and received industry recognition, including being named an ENR Top Green Contractor. His work supports DPR’s mission to be one of the most admired companies and promotes resilient, future-ready practices.

Ryan fosters collaboration across the value chain by creating space for dialogue, removing barriers, and developing tools that drive progress. He is a recognized keynote speaker, committee chair and a valuable team member across the industry.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with family and friends, experiencing new cultures, chasing adventure, and staying grounded in nature.
