In his role as Central Florida Business Unit Leader, Brian Yarborough supports the phenomenal teams building great projects in Tampa and Orlando. He works closely with the Southeast leadership team to ensure alignment across the region and helps guide the strategic direction locally as the team works together to chart a path for the business unit. With an extensive background in the healthcare, higher education and commercial core markets, Brian has worked for such clients as Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the University of South Florida and the City of Tampa throughout his construction career.

From a young age, Brian has always enjoyed working with his hands whether building something or taking something apart to see how it worked. It was during a college visit that he learned a career in construction was a real possibility. Following a tour of the University of Florida, he researched the construction program and realized it was a good fit for his skills and interests. While pursuing a construction management degree, Brian interned for a mechanical contractor during his first summer break. He fell in love with the industry and worked as a carpenter for the remainder of his time in Gainesville, Florida, deepening his understanding of the industry. After graduating, he worked for another contractor before joining DPR as a project executive in 2021 with a focus on healthcare.

Brian's level-headed nature brings a sense of calm, helping teams stay focused and maintain what he refers to as "situational awareness." He emphasizes that the context often determines whether a detailed or big-picture approach is best and highlights that a fresh perspective can sometimes lead to the optimal solution. Brian attributes these insights and many other life lessons to his father, who served in the United States Navy for 30 years. The most crucial lesson he keeps at the forefront of his mind is to take care of his team and our people first and foremost. When challenges arise, he feels grateful for the support of his team.

Brian loves all things outdoors, especially getting out on the boat with his wife and two children. They can oftentimes be found anchored at one of the many sandbars dotting the Tampa Bay area.
