Senior Accounting Manager

DPR Construction is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to lead and develop a team of accountants that are responsible for reporting, account reconciliations, managing audits, fixed assets, month end close & maintaining the general ledger.  The ideal candidate has strong leadership capabilities, a solid operational & technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results.  This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal oriented in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in ongoing development of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies.

  • Ensure team is consistently advancing in use of technology and benchmarking against teams/organizations of similar size.

  • Oversee daily activities to ensure employees adhere to deadlines and are in line with company goals.

  • Establish clearly defined goals and provide feedback based on existing competencies for a team of 7 accountants. 

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and budget holders.

  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.

  • Lead implementation of process and system improvements based on outcome of review.

  • Efficiently work toward and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Perform special projects, other ad-hoc duties, as needed.

Additional position requirements include the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar discipline, with at least 10 years of experience.

  • 5+ years leading and developing teams

  • Public accounting experience preferred.

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred. 

  • Construction or similar industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with full-cycle accrual accounting utilizing a subledger/general ledger accounting system.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Ability to identify and implement best practices, think strategically & plan for the long-term success of the organization.

  • Effectively delegate tasks.

  • Have strong attention to detail, enjoy problem solving, take initiative and have a professional and service minded approach.

  • Ability to travel

Anticipated starting pay range:  $125,000.00-$175,000.00.
