Facebook Gallatin Data Center | Gallatin, Tennessee

Meta’s Gallatin Data Center is a greenfield development located in Gallatin, Tennessee, spanning approximately 900 acres. Once complete, the multi-building campus will encompass nearly 1.5 million square feet of infrastructure, including 12 data halls and two administrative buildings. With over $1.5 billion invested in Tennessee, the Gallatin campus represents Meta’s 17th data center globally and its 13th in the U.S.

Designed for sustainability and long-term performance, the facility is supported by 100% renewable energy through partnerships with the Tennessee Valley Authority, supporting over 500 megawatts of local solar capacity.

About The Project

Instead of conventional air conditioning, it employs a direct air cooling system that uses outside air and fan technology, capturing and repurposing hot air generated by equipment to maintain interior temperature. The project is LEED Gold certified and features native landscaping, rainwater capture systems, and 30 acres of pollinator habitat.

Construction began in 2020, with DPR Construction serving as the general contractor. Peak site activity has included over 1,100 skilled tradespeople. The site includes extensive sitework, steel erection and phased building designs such as “H-shaped" and “stretched plus” configurations. Upon completion, the site will support around 100 operational jobs and contribute significantly to the local economy.

The Gallatin Data Center exemplifies Meta’s commitment to building sustainable, high-performing digital infrastructure while delivering long-term economic and environmental benefits to the surrounding community.
