There were definitely challenges such as getting started and finding the courage to ask questions, however for the most part the internship was a great learning opportunity. I learned many communication skills, safety procedures, and software controls that will be very useful in my future endeavors.

What You Will Do
With the guidance of a dedicated mentor team, Build Up interns will work 35–40 hours per week on an active jobsite and support essential construction management functions, including:
- Assisting with subcontractor coordination and communication
- Supporting document control and project tracking
- Participating in quality inspections and site walks
- Learning jobsite safety practices and participating in safety training
- Helping update schedules, site plans, and project documentation
- Completing a variety of entry-level construction management assignments, both alongside mentors and independently
What You Will Learn
The Build Up Internship is designed to support both career exploration and personal growth. Through hands-on experience and structured mentorship, interns will:
- Explore career and education pathways within construction management
- Set and reflect on personal goals through an 8-week Capstone Project
- Develop communication, teamwork, and professional skills in a professional work environment
- Build confidence through presentations and project-based learning
- Learn how to ask questions, receive feedback, and collaborate effectively as part of a team
Where You Will Work
We have construction projects across the country, view the locations list to find one close to you. Whenever possible projects are located near public transportation (transportation stipends are available).

Please Note: While the application may list our headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, your submission will be reviewed and routed based on the jobsite location nearest to the address you provide.

I learned a lot of new skills and programs during this Internship. I gained a better understanding of construction and the requirements for a successful career within this Industry. I got a broad overview of BIM 360, CMIC, Hammer Tech, and Primavera. All the experience I gained throughout this summer gave me the confidence to make the best decisions for my future education and career decision.

Compensation
- Interns are paid a generous hourly rate on a weekly pay cycle.
- Transportation stipends are available.
- Relationships with mentors in the fields of construction, engineering, and architecture.
I learned a lot of time management and priorities. This internship allowed me to develop lots of professional skills and challenged me to learn many new things. I am excited to bring this knowledge to build on in college and future internships.
