Galleria Manor, built by the joint venture of Hardin Construction and Chap Ashmore & Associates (CAA), is a 113,523-sq.-ft., four-story senior apartment community housing 88 units. The project achieved LEED® Gold Certification, making it the 2nd LEED Gold seniors community in Georgia.
All units are ADA accessible and 5% of the units are fully equipped for persons with disabilities including units for the hearing and vision impaired. Unique features include handicap adaptable units, nurse call systems, multiple elevators, and pull cords in bedrooms and bathrooms that activate a light outside the unit. The building features community areas including a library, multipurpose space for meetings and classes, a fitness center and a computer work area.
75 percent of the Work was awarded to local Metro Atlanta based companies ($5.3M of $7.1M). Galleria Manor is the 11th project CAA/Hardin has built for The Paces Foundation, a not-for-profit, community housing development corporation.
Galleria Manor of Smyrna was awarded LEED Gold certification.
The environment friendly construction methods and building features for the four-story, 88-unit Galleria Manor development include drought tolerant trees and shrubs, permanent erosion controls, high-efficiency plumbing fixtures and appliances, construction waste recycling and proximity to public transit. 75 percent of the work was awarded to local Metro Atlanta based companies ($5.3M of $7.1M). 80 percent of materials used on the project came from within 500 miles of the project site.
