AdventHealth Tampa Breaks Ground on New Cancer Center and Physician Office Building

Facility will expand oncology program and advanced specialty imaging services at the hospital

DPR Construction team members joined with officials from AdventHealth in Tampa, FL to celebrate the groundbreaking of the AdventHealth Tampa Physician Office Building, Cancer Center and parking garage.

“We’re excited to get under way on this project that will help AdventHealth serve the community and the growing demand for cancer care close to home,” said Brian Yarborough, DPR’s business unit leader for Central Florida. “So many members of our team from project admin staff to our self-perform employees who make their homes in the area also turn to AdventHealth for care, so these sorts of projects feel very personal.”

The 100,000-sq.-ft. facility will support the hospital’s oncology program, expanded clinical care, and advanced specialty imaging services. To accommodate increased activity, a new seven-story parking garage—delivered turnkey by Finfrock—will provide more than 1,000 parking spaces for patients, visitors, and staff.

Two floors of the new facility are dedicated to cancer treatment and will include specialized equipment in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cancers, including two linear accelerators. Additionally, the project will support surgical specialties such as Neuro and Spine Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Urology, Pulmonology and Neurology.
