DPR combines the focus of a specialty contractor with the resources of a national builder. DPR’s SSG supports projects of varying sizes using consistent processes, access to national resources, and scalable expertise. Our teams have experience working within occupied and operational environments such as hospitals, labs and active offices, and they apply advanced technology and self‑perform capabilities to support coordination and more predictable project execution.
DPR works closely with facility management teams to align construction activities with ongoing operations. This collaboration includes detailed phasing, scheduling and logistics planning intended to reduce disruption during peak hours or critical operations. For projects involving system upgrades or tie‑ins, DPR teams may use Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation to plan and coordinate shutdown activities in a controlled and deliberate manner.
DPR’s Special Services Group has experience supporting work in highly regulated, precision‑driven environments. In pharmaceutical lab settings, SSG teams are familiar with FDA, cGMP and ISO considerations and have worked on cleanrooms, containment systems and contamination‑controlled spaces. In mission‑critical data centers, teams bring experience coordinating work around critical infrastructure such as power distribution, cooling systems, raised flooring and backup power. Our self‑perform capabilities provide added coordination and visibility on specialty installations, supporting quality and compliance objectives during construction.
DPR has experience performing work within operational healthcare facilities while coordinating closely with hospital staff and stakeholders. Teams are accustomed to working in active environments and planning work to align with patient care and clinical operations. DPR follows established ICRA planning practices, which may include the use of barriers, negative air strategies and HEPA filtration as appropriate to the project scope and site conditions.
Self‑perform capabilities can offer greater transparency into labor, materials and sequencing for select scopes of work. Using in‑house craft teams familiar with DPR processes helps streamline coordination and planning, particularly in active renovation environments. Early involvement, supported by tools such as VDC, can help teams identify potential conflicts earlier and adjust sequencing as conditions evolve. When paired with prefabrication strategies, national purchasing relationships, and open‑book pricing approaches, DPR’s integrated approach is intended to support informed decision‑making and disciplined risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
