Kelly Pratt brings nearly two decades of technical expertise, people-first leadership, and deep project experience to her role as Business Unit Leader in Seattle. She combines her structural engineering background with a passion for building high‑performing teams to drive DPR’s growth across the Pacific Northwest, with experience leading complex life science, healthcare, and design‑build projects.
Kelly joined DPR in 2006 after discovering that construction offered the perfect blend of engineering, collaboration, and problem-solving. She is known for her ability to connect teams, navigate complexity with clarity, and build trust through transparent communication and shared leadership.
A defining moment early in her career occurred on the Palomar Medical Center project, where she and her fellow project engineers removed cubicle walls and office doors from an inherited trailer complex—transforming it into a space that better reflected DPR’s open, team-oriented culture. For Kelly, it was a powerful example of living DPR’s values through action.
What excites Kelly most about her work is the constant variety and the teams she gets to work with – within DPR and with design and trade partners. She loves hearing her kids point out “Mama’s building” when they drive past projects she’s had a hand in bringing to life.
Outside of work, Kelly is energized by travel with her family, baking, running, skiing, sailing, and reading science fiction. She also proudly serves on the board of Sail Sand Point, a community sailing organization.
