Locations: Redwood City, California / Sacramento, California / Denver, Colorado

The senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating work as planned by the mission critical group preconstruction manager. Costing activities will range from highly conceptual efforts associated with early project viability assessments to clients bid type requests. In this role the estimator will support all active projects with preparation of changes of scope, review of trade subcontractor change requests, and overall cost analysis. 

•    Plan, organize and implement electrical estimating processes for the mission critical group
•    Collaborate in the planning for improving our bid type tasks (i.e. accuracy enhancement, application of new technologies, etc.)
•    Create a detailed project plan including analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required documentation is present
•    Lead market solicitation for pricing to support conceptual, schematic, and design development overall project costing
•    Responsible for all updates to the electrical cost database: labor factors, regional factors, etc.
•    Work with our project executives on client specific interface
•    Development of a production rate tracking for mission critical projects, including gathering and monitoring actual costs vs. estimated costs
•    Track and analyze market pricing

Ideal knowledge base:
•    Deep understanding of electrical systems
•    Understanding of capital equipment procurement process
o    Wide network of equipment vendor relationships nationwide
o    Wide network of subcontractor relationships nationwide
•    Strong cost knowledge
o    Electrical estimating experience with electrical contractors or general contractors
o    Previous experience and interaction with engineering firms
o    Ability to conceptualize electrical and related mechanical requirements
•    Strong understanding of current regional market dynamics
•    Ability to normalize pricing from all regions of the United States

•    Minimum 7-10 years of experience as an electrical estimator
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Functions effectively as part of an intense collaborative team
•    Knowledge and understanding of drawings, specifications, WinEst, On Screen Take Off, and Microsoft Office Products
•    Knowledge in the following areas: mission critical, industrial facilities, renewables
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent
