2021 Build Up Internship participants talk about their experience.
You will work in the job trailer, side by side with a project team building a major commercial construction project.
You will learn about managing a multi-million-dollar project, the innovative technology used for planning, scheduling and design, and the wide range of professional roles needed to build great things.
This internship was extremely challenging and is what made me enjoy it every day. I learned the skills of both a foreman and a superintendent throughout the summer which helped me understand the path I might want to take in the future.

The daily assignments that I was given by my mentor helped me expand my knowledge in the industry BEFORE going into college which certainly does help. I loved doing the submittals and looking at the floor plans for the project. I found that the most helpful.

My favorite activity was interviews. I interviewed 6 different professionals and learned about things outside of the field work, the safety aspects, and the people directly in the field. I also really liked doing safety inspections and learning a lot from our safety professional.
