The $7M Health Sciences 2 Parking Deck is designed to a 100-year standard and features some complex systems for achieving this objective. The parking facility is a cast-in-place, post-tensioned deck comprised of 185,000 sq. ft., and can accommodate 518 cars on its six floors.
The project encompasses a number of sustainability features, for which the University hopes to earn points toward LEED certification for a future academic building, to which the parking deck will be connected.
The project's sustainability features will include construction waste recycling, light-reflective surfaces on the deck's top two floors and use of concrete with corrosion inhibitors.
