University Commons is a 748,738-sq.-ft. student housing complex located on a 4.2 acre site at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta. The development consists of 4 buildings ranging from 8 to 14 stories, with 2,000 beds, 17,982-sq.-ft. of retail space and a 786-space parking structure. The buildings have an urban look compatible with the architectural character of the main campus and downtown Atlanta. The buildings circle a large landscaped courtyard and provide students with an environment for living and learning.

The apartment style units feature a full kitchen, dining room and living room. The complex has 646 units with 346, 4-bedroom, 2-bath units; 146, 3-bedroom, 2-baths units; and 154, 2-bedroom, 2-bath units. Each floor has a separate meeting room and every building has a community room. The fully furnished units have all the amenities typically associated with student housing including phone, cable television, internet/data connections, heat and air, smoke detectors and fire suppression systems.

The buildings are served by a central lobby area; a 24-hour service/security desk, management offices, laundry facilities, dining services, mail room, and study/conference spaces. The development also includes a student medical center, community rooms and multipurpose rooms.

University Commons finished ahead of schedule, in time for staff and students to utilize the buildings for the fall semester. The project also finished under the GMP and the savings were returned to the Owner.
