When a leading global telecommunications company needed a San Diego location for its U.S. headquarters, it turned to DPR to find an appropriate site and build it out to the company’s exacting specifications. DPR began by assisting the real estate team with a thorough analysis of the client’s needs and extensive research for potential sites.

DPR implemented an expedited and flexible approach to complete the six-story, 200,000-sq.-ft. headquarters build out in less than one year, creating an efficient and effective work environment specifically designed to derive high-tech innovation and development. The collaborative relationship between DPR and Carrier Johnson enabled the two companies to streamline the schedule, avoid costly delays, and deliver a facility that exceeded the client’s expectations.

The build-out involved construction of traditional executive offices, streamlined support spaces, demountable wall offices, a multi-function cafeteria, fitness center, computer/server room, redundant cooling systems, and site work.

Green Features

All of this was done with an eye toward achieving sustainability goals and meeting LEED for Commercial Interiors requirements, the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. DPR’s continued commitment to all aspects of green building during construction resulted in the achievement of LEED-CI Gold certification.
