DPR recently finished building a replacement data center for Agilent Technologies, a spin-off of Hewlett-Packard Company, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The existing world-wide, enterprise-level data center, which had stored all of Agilent Technologies' data, had been built in phases over the past decade and had reached its end-of-life. A new, 40,000-sq.-ft. data center was built to replace the existing out-of-date data center, along with UPS/battery rooms and an addtional building to house backup generators with a load bank. Demolition of the old data center will occur after the full transition is completed into the new data center.
The new data center is a Tier III-level facility housing approximately 400 racks (10,000 sq. ft. of data hall white space) with 1.5 MW of available power at completion. The plan includes an additional 1MW power for future expansion.
