DPR Construction is seeking a Project Lead (Civil Engineer) for our San Francisco Bay Area region, based at the DPR office in Redwood City, CA. May travel to or work at unanticipated DPR Project Offices in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa, Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties).
Under the supervision of the Project Executive, the Project Lead (Civil Engineer) performs engineering duties on commercial construction projects, including the construction of Healthcare buildings. By working on the project from the design stage to close-out, the Project Lead (Civil Engineer) has hands-on technical knowledge of the project scope. S/he works closely with all members of the project team and is responsible for the following duties:
Provide technical engineering advice regarding design, construction, or project modifications to managerial personnel;
Identify and resolve complex construction issues, including building processes, materials, and systems;
Ensure work product conforms to design specifications and to safety and construction standards;
Under the Project Executive, participate in estimating material costs and quantities, and forecasting and scheduling for the project;
Collaborate with project team members including Project Engineers, Estimators, Building Information Modeling (BIM) Engineers, and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Engineers at all stages of planning and construction;
Assist Building Information Modeling (BIM) Engineers with integration of BIM processes at all stages of planning and construction.
The successful candidate will possess:
MS in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field; and 3 years of experience in a civil engineering/construction related occupation. In the alternative, the successful candidate will possess a BS in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field; and 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in a civil engineering/construction related occupation.
Special Skills Requirements:
Experience with design and/or construction of Healthcare facilities;
Education or experience with seismic and retrofitting construction issues;
Education or experience with green construction techniques and/or use of sustainable materials in commercial construction;
Education or experience with CMiC, Primavera P6 or similar project management software;
Knowledge of lean construction principles and experience with lean construction implementation including pull planning and location-based management systems;
Experience working with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) projects;
Education or Experience with BIM tools including Navisworks, Sketchup, and Revit Architecture.
